A couple of tips to help you:

When you set up your original 'patrol radius' I'd suggest entering 5 miles.

You will only receive alerts that are filed within the patrol radius you define.

You can always increase or decrease the radius if you receive too many alerts or too few.

You can have more than one patrol radius, so if you have a parent or child living somewhere else, you can set up patrol radius for each of those areas too.

When you receive an alert, it will tell you the distance it was filed from your location.
